I searched high and low for one of these bubble poppers that was not part of a set. I have been canning for a couple of years and I already had all the other tools. This thing is nice to have instead of using a butter knife to remove bubbles from jars and measure head space. Supposedly a metal utensil can make hairline scratches in the jars that can cause them to crack in the canner. Plus it turns out I was overfilling my jars. With this you always know exactly how much space to leave. I bought two and they should last for years and years to come.
