The cable itself is very nice, thick and insulated.
The length is great, its only weakness is right where the cable attaches to the connector, it should have a much longer piece that sticks out so that the cable can go much further into the connector.
This is our 2nd one, first one lasted about 1 year before the cable just finally frayed and separated away from the connector.
On this one I took my fly tying gear and I wrapped lots of thread around the connector and to the cable making that joint MUCH more solid, then coated it with nail polish.
It is now the way it should have been to start with with no weak points.
I added a picture under customer images to show what I feel needs to be done.

This cable works perfectly with my iPhone 3G, I have tried so many of them but none of them worked except this one. I'm very pleased with the durability and build quality. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star instead of five is because the cable will get unplugged easily if you pull it. There is no lock mechanism. I think this would have been perfect if only it did not come off so easily.

This longer, thicker cord arrived as promised. My iPhone lives in an Otter Box (protective case) and when I try to use the cord it doesn't fit tightly and often detaches therefore doesn't charge. There's nothing wrong with the cord if this is happening to you too - you just need to plug the cord into the iPhone when it is outside the Otter Box which is somewhat annoying. That's the reason I couldn't give the cord a full 5 rating, but otherwise it is wonderful to have a longer cord and this is a good product.
